CYA does not have a summer basketball program. Some coaches who participate in our Winter travel basketball program put together summer teams to play in the Fairfax Stars league but the Basketball board has no official contact with these teams. CYA volunteers help organize a Summer College League hosted at the Northern Virginia Sportsplex (formerly Hoop Magic) but this is not an official CYA-run program.

Registration for our Winter 2012-13 program will begin in mid-September. Tryouts for the travel teams will take place in the first part of October and travel teams will practice from October through November. Skills assessments for our house leagues take place in early November. The season for both the house and travel teams officially begins in December and runs through early March.

SYA (Southwestern Youth Association) does offer a summer league for grades 1-12 which starts June 25th and concludes at the end of July. Check their website at http://www.syasports.org/basketball/index_E.html. Tryouts for their summer league begin June 6th.
