Get ready for Fall 2024! We are excited to be playing in the Northern Virginia Field Hockey Alliance League again this Fall.  We will be playing a traditional season with 1-2 practices per week and a game each weekend.  The Fall season will kickoff the week of August 19th.  All players will need to provide a field hockey stick. mouth guard, shin guards that cover the ankles, and a black athletic skirt for games.

Practices

• All age groups (grades 3/4, 5/6, 7/8) practice 1-2 times per week.  Exact practice days/times are TBD.
• Practice starts the week of August 19th.

Games

• Games will be held each weekend against other youth associations. Most games will be on Saturdays, but it is possible that some games are on Sundays. Games are played around the local area including Herndon HS, Nike Park, Alexandria City HS, and at EC Lawrence.
• Games begin the weekend after Labor Day.

Required Equipment

• Field hockey stick:  There are a limited number of loaner sticks available if there is a financial hardship.  Please email Alicia Kuehn at fieldhockey@chantillyyouth.org if you are in need of a stick to borrow.
• Shinguards:  Please wear the ones that cover and protect your ankles!
• Mouthguard: All players need to wear a mouthguard for practices and games. 
• Black Skirt: Black skirt is part of the game day uniform.  Black athletic skirts may be purchased at stores like Dick's Sporting Goods or Target.   
• Game Jersey: Players will be provided with a reversible jersey.

CYA Field Hockey is excited to announce two Spring  opportunities for 2024!

Players can participate in Spring Clinics and/or the Spring Field Hockey League.  Players who register for the Spring League will automatically be enrolled in the Spring Clinics. Spring League players may choose to participate in as many of the Spring Clinics as desired.

• The Spring Clinic will be held on Sunday nights April 7th - May 19th.
  • Players in 3rd - 8th grade are eligible to participate.
  • The Spring Clinics will consist of drills, instruction, and scrimmages
  • Players new to the sport are encourages to participate in the Clinics. 
  • Players will receive a  CYA Field Hockey T-Shirt.

• The Spring League games will be scheduled April 13th - May 18th.
  • Players in 3rd - 8th grade are eligible to participate.
  • Spring League players will automatically be enrolled in the Spring Clinics. Players may choose to participate in as many clinic practices as available.
  • Players new to field hockey should participate in the Clinics.
  • Players will receive a CYA Field Hockey reversible jersey.

Curious about buying a field hockey stick? New to the sport and not sure what to look for in a field hockey stick?  Look no further!  The most important thing to keep in mind for our beginners is stick length.  Sticks should be no taller than the player's hip bone.

Camp Description:

Welcome to the 2024 Oakton High School field hockey camp! We are excited to welcome you to another great year of summer camp at OHS!

Week 1 (7th-12th grade): Our advanced level camp is geared towards field hockey players who have a number of years of experience, as we will focus on more intermediate/advanced skills. We try to split the camp into groups based on age/experience so you end up playing with others in your grade level and/or skills level, so you can gear up to be prepared for your fall season.

Week 2 (3rd-7th grade): This year we are excited to welcome back our camp for our younger age groups! This camp is designed for field hockey players entering 3rd-7th grade. All skill levels are welcome. We will try our best to break up in groups based on age and/or experience playing field hockey! Each group will be led by at least one of our Oakton Field Hockey varsity players, and instruction will be led by the Oakton Field Hockey coaching staff!

Chargers Girl's Field Hockey Camp 2024

Camp Objective:
The Chantilly Sports Camp is an opportunity for players to gain knowledge and experience in the sport of Field Hockey. We want the campers to enjoy themselves, make new friends, and work on developing fundamental skills while learning the sport of field hockey. Everyone is welcome.

Dates: July 15 - 18
Time: 5pm - 8pm
Beginners ages: 5-17
