About Lacrosse

Lacrosse is the oldest game continuously played in North America . Originally played by Native Americans, today lacrosse is played not only in the , but also in many countries throughout the world. CYA lacrosse is part of the Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL).

The NVYLL has teams from most youth groups in Fairfax County , plus teams from Arlington , Loudoun and Prince William Counties . Games are played at various locations throughout the four counties as well as at our home fields at Greenbriar Park and Rachel Carson.  The CYA lacrosse program aims to provide a positive athletic experience for all players and to instruct players on safe and effective techniques for playing the game.  We want to promote an understanding of the game, as well as good sportsmanship among the coaches, players, and parents.

If you are interested in playing "the fastest game on two feet," sign up! CYA lacrosse is open to boys and girls from the 1st grade through 8th grade.  Players need to supply their own lacrosse stick and cleated shoes.  All other required protective equipment can be rented from CYA and will be offered following registration.  All equipment is issued at the CYA equipment building, "the Shed," CYA’s facility at Bennett Road and West Ox Road.  Liability and secondary insurance is required for all players and is included in the registration fee.

Running a large program like CYA Lacrosse requires volunteers.  There are many ways to help the program including administration, team managers, evaluation sign-in attendants, fundraising, etc.  To volunteer for any position please contact Jeff lalande at lacrosse@chantillyyouth.org
